Drawing is a form of thinking, observation, expression, communication, and discovery. Drawing is also a valuable tool for learning strategies for creative problem solving and is applicable to many disciplines both in and outside of art.

Through a variety of studio assignments, students will gain familiarity with a wide range of both traditional and more experimental drawing materials, tools, and approaches. Beginning courses develop students’ technical and perceptual skills, while, in Intermediate and Advanced Courses, students deepen their exploration of subject matter and its relationship to visual form.
